Learning Outside the Classroom Residential Trips

Schools Residential Outdoor Learning Trips

Now, more than ever, the Outdoor Classroom needs children visiting it – for not only a more rounded learning experience, but in particular to ensure they are connected with the natural systems and approaches to living that can guide us to a more sustainable future on this planet.

Outdoor learning – through awakening all five senses – can provide a child with a profound and fun-filled experience. The natural environment helps pupils of all ages to make sense of the world around in a manner that is simply not possible within the conventional classroom setting.

The Rippledown tutors will help you identify definite Learning Objectives integral to your school’s Curriculum Planning. There are over sixty different activities that help stimulate a child’s learning capacities, using the centre’s countryside and seashore habitats. The residential visit is a learning tool in itself, developing life skills and improving team and class dynamics as well as self-awareness and individual confidence.

LOtC residential and 1 day programs for Key Stages 1 to 5

Many schools and organisations book annual residential or day visits with us. They choose from the following “Learning Outside the Classroom activities” and we design a programme that fits their needs and budget.

Key stages 1-3 Residential

The modules are adapted to meet the curriculum requirements of key stages 1-3.

Bringing a group to Rippledown can help pupils develop key life skills and improve the team dynamics of your class through a shared experience.

Key stages 4-5 Residential

We offer Key Stage 4-5 pupils a resource for GCSE/A-Level field-work and controlled assessment and we have found that this group can benefit from adapted adult courses covering areas such as sustainable building and problem solving or team building challenges.

These are run as either Residential or Day Courses
